It’s Summertime at Camera Shy!
Did you know that summer is Utah’s prime picture-taking season? If you think fall or winter is when Utah really shows off, chances are you haven’t seen what Utah has to offer! Take a look at these summer sessions we’re offering to see why Utah photographers love these sunny months!
The Summer Keepsake Experience
If summer was a color, what would it be? If you said yellow, we think alike! We wanted to capture the essence of those sunny summer days where a picnic, ice-cold lemonade, and some pretty flowers are all that’s needed to make an enchanting, lasting memory. With our keepsake experience, we’re confident these sessions will give your family a memorable experience, too! These quick and easy sessions are held at Utah Lake, adding to that quintessential summer feel. Who doesn’t love a lake day? With greenery and tall grass surrounding the area, it provides the perfect private backdrop for your family’s photos.
It’s golden hour, you have a magnificent view, and there are wildflowers as far as the eye can see…is this heaven? Close! It’s Albion Basin in Big Cottonwood Canyon! This is a family photoshoot MUST if you haven’t taken pictures here before! We’re not joking, it’s so worth it. There’s a $12 entrance fee you’ll pay at the checkpoint before driving up a dirt road (this part is kind of bumpy, so we recommend a higher clearance vehicle just for your own peace of mind). You’ll park in one of three parking lots, depending on traffic at the location, and then meander through the paths lined with dainty flowers.
All photographers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts are protective of this amazing spot, and it’s clear to see why! Due to the wildflowers being so fragile, photographers were really limited at this location for years. To help keep the wildflowers abundant and less restricted, we’re offering limited sessions here on June 27th-29th. If you want your family’s pictures taken in these stunning mountain flowers, click here to see our availability!
Daybreak’s Sandy Beach
If you want a stunning summer view without having to drive up the canyons, Daybreak Lake is the photoshoot location for you! This location is best in the early morning or right before sunset. When you catch this spot on a cloudy day, it creates the most stunning light, and you can sometimes see the clouds’ reflection in the water. The dock and surrounding areas are also gorgeous to take some snapshots at! We love Daybreak. That’s why we’ve had our studio location in SodaRow for years! Our Daybreak studio is running 30 minute mini sessions now until June 29th on the lake’s sandy beach. Another plus? No mountain mosquitoes trying to eat you alive! These are on select dates, and spots are limited. If this sounds like the summer session you’ve been looking for, don’t hesitate to book!
No matter where you choose to go this summer, get outdoors! Utah has so much beautiful nature to offer, and there’s so many outdoor opportunities for families of all ages and fitness levels (P.s. We’ve heard that Daybreak residents can rent kayaks from the dock for FREE! Jealous!). While you’re out enjoying the wildflowers, mountains, and various lakes and reservoirs, snap a few photos—or, better yet, have our talented team take them for you.
Wishing your family a happy summer break,
The Camera Shy Team
